I agree - I like to get it right in frony of the lens. Nothing wrong with digital art, but in my opinion digital art and phtographs are a world apart. :)

so funny two pro who both forgot stuff... I always check from the the GPO socket in the wall to the camera.. everything leads flashes brollies the lead from the flash to the cam.. whatever thats called cam batts and cards... made me laugh and think about a thing Douglas Baglin said to me years ago... he had judged a comp which I had won and we were looking at some nude shots which displayed a tad of camera shake.. Doug said "This is a classic case of the photographer being overawed by his subject..." I still quote him when the occasion (such as this) merits lmao..

These photographs are getting so popular now - there's an exhibition about the "illusion of reality" in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence at the moment, and one of the main installations were photographs using a tilt-shift lens. Everything looks so fake, it really messes with my eyes!

These kinds of photographs are also all over almost every European train station I've been to in the last two months in Eurail advertisements. The people look so unreal, they really look like photographs of miniature set ups.

Thanks for the comment - that shot was at Birrarung Marr, in Melbourne, at about 1am, using only a tripod and the available light!! The trick was to take the shot as the model walked towards me, and hit the shutter as she was almost half-way into each of the walkway lights. This gave some nice fill lighting without leaving the front of her in shadow (which would have happened if she walked past the centre of the light and it got behind her!!). Hope this helps!!
